In the middle of the sea she told him she could go no further. "Farther," he said, with tender correction. "It's exactly that sort of remark that makes me despair," she snapped, and drowned.

Fair Puts County's Talent on Display   Trinity Journal, Sept. 2, 2009

By Jane Belden

Saturday afternoon at the Trinity County Fair was warm with a continuous breeze that made it pleasant. The fairway was dominated by the Ferris wheel, the lawns were bordered by flowers, there were food booths, and many friends were greeting each other in the buildings, at the auction, and along the paths, and you could hear the sounds of farm animals in the background.

...In the commercial building, they had a corner for authors to display and talk about their books. Among the authors was Random da Shea, a Lewiston resident. Her first book "Without Alice" was available for sale. Random da Shea is really Felicity Dippery and her book, a continuation of the Alice in Wonderland story, is charming.

A large crowd of appreciative viewers attended the Feb. 7 "Art of the Book" show featured at the Highland Art Center in Weaverville as part of the monthly Art Cruise. The works of numerous local artists and writers were featured, ranging from artistic whimsy, to biography, to memoir, to how-to (The Art of Hairdressing) to photography collections, to fiction and works of fantasy.

Among the latter is "Without Alice," the first published work of local author Felicity Dippery, writing as Random Da Shea. "Without Alice" is a continuation of the Lewis Carroll calssic "Alice in Wonderland" and picks up on the story in modern times when the Queen's Wonderland is no longer so wonderful, and must depend on a band of petty crooks, criminals and ne'er-do-wells, aided by a literally death-averse Alice imposter from our own world, to keep the ultimate disaster from the White Rabbit's doorstep.

Some of the original works of art, as well as copies of most of the published books, are available for sale at the art center.
